PHOTOS: Mariano's Construction Underway in Ravenswood

About 500 jobs are coming to the neighborhood through the Ravenswood Station redevelopment, which includes a Mariano's Fresh Market.

Architects predict a January 2014 opening for a new Mariano’s Fresh Market in Ravenswood. Construction for the grocery store began at Lawrence and Ravenswood avenues after the city council's approval in November.

“Construction has started and demo is almost done,” said Jeff Woll, with Antunovich Associates architects, told Patch in December. “We’re well on our way.”

The development, Ravenswood Station LLC, includes not only the grocery store, but also an L.A. Fitness and Sears Auto Center.
