PHOTOS: Students Light the Fire at Lane Tech's Art Department

The Lane Tech art department held its annual Raku firing event where students help turn their ceramic creations into works of art using traditional methods. Check out photos from the event on Patch.

Lane Tech College Prep High School students gathered Dec. 14 to get fired up – well, more like to fire up their ceramic artwork.

It’s all a part of the school’s annual Raku firing, a traditional Japanese pottery method using fire and smoke to create unique designs. Using a propane-fueled kiln, Lane Tech students turned their own creations into works of art.
