ComEd Employee Volunteers Celebrate National Volunteer Week with Makeover of DePaul College Prep’s Faculty Lounge

Employee volunteers from ComEd provided a spring cleaning to the faculty lounge of DePaul College Prep (previously known as Gordon Tech College Prep) on Tuesday, April 8, as part of the company’s celebration of National Volunteer Week. The volunteers were joined by friends, colleagues and a few DePaul College Prep students as they cleaned, painted, assembled shelving, built a kitchen area and provided other related activities to revamp the old space.

The employee volunteer event is part of ComEd’s company-wide observance of National Volunteer Week (April 6-12), an annual nationwide celebration of people working to improve their communities through service.  The event is one of more than 150 community service projects ComEd employees, and employees from its parent company Exelon, are leading in celebration of National Volunteer Week. ComEd’s National Volunteer Week projects are focused on employee-led community service projects in support of education, environment, diversity and inclusion, and neighborhood development in the communities where ComEd employees work and live.
