Out With Roscoe Village's Mulligan's, in With New Restaurant

The popular darts and whiskey bar closed two weeks ago, and already a new restaurant is set to open late this summer. Keep reading for the details.

Mulligan's Public House, the vintage Irish pub on Roscoe Street, closed two weeks ago to make way for a new restaurant.

Set to open late this summer, Commonwealth is taking the location at 2000 W. Roscoe St., according to a banner posted over the old bar's sign.

The $195,000 renovation to the corner building began in mid-June. It entails refurbishing the basement and first floor of the property.

Although the menu was not yet available to the public Wednesday, Commonwealth assures on its Facebook page, "The food will be good. Fresh, made from scratch, using great ingredients."

Mulligan's did not serve food and rather, was primarily a watering hole.

Stay updated on the Commonwealth menu, opening date, construction and more on bar's Facebook page or via Twitter.
